Allotment Plots
The Parish Council owns the following allotment sites:
- Land between North Hinksey Lane and the Seacourt Stream
- Land between North Hinksey Lane and the Southern By Pass
There are approximately 100 plots.

Allotment Rents
The 2009/2010 charge for allotment hire is £1.60 a pole.
Current Allotment Tenancy Rules
Conditions of Allotment Tenancy Form (Currently being revised)
The tenant shall:
- keep the allotment in a proper state of cultivation and fertility, using the land only for the growing of fruit, flowers and vegetables. The allotment shall not be used for keeping poultry, or other birds or animals.
- be responsible for ensuring that the allotment is kept in a safe condition and does not present a hazard to members of the public.
- not cause a nuisance or annoyance to the tenants of any other plots. Any chemicals or sprays should be used with care, to avoid contaminating other plots, as these may be being worked organically.
- be responsible for mowing the paths between the allotments. Tenants should not obstruct any paths and any temporary piles of manure must be removed from roads or paths within 48 hours.
- not sublet or part with the possession of the plot without the written consent of the Parish Council.
- not plant trees, or cut down established trees without the consent of the Parish Council.
- not take, sell or carry away mineral, gravel, sand or clay.
- not erect any building on the allotment without the written consent of the Parish Council.
- not use the plot for storing or disposing of refuse or rubble, with the exception of composting vegetation.
- not bring any dogs unless on a lead, and not allow them to damage or foul any plots or paths.
- be responsible for keeping the gates to the plots locked.
- not allow members of the public, especially children, onto the allotments unless accompanied by an allotment tenant.
- allow any member or officer of the Council reasonable access to the plots at any time.
- take care bonfires do not cause nuisance to neighbouring houses and plots, in particular by minimising smoke. Failure to comply may lead to action by the Vale of White Horse District Council.
- pay the rent when notified. Rents are due on 29 September and shall be paid within 30 days.

I have read and understood the allotment tenancy conditions and I will comply with them.
I understand that if I do not comply with these conditions there might be a claim of negligence on the part of an injured party.

Provision of a Water Source (Well) at the allotment site between North Hinksey Lane and the Southern By Pass
The Allotments Sub-Committee are pleased to announce that the The Midcounties Co-operative has awarded the Parish Council a £500 grant from their Co-operative Community Fund towards the provision of a water source at the school towards the school playing field end of the allotments between North Hinksey Lane and the Southern by Pass. The Parish Council is grateful that the Midcounties Co-operative was able to support this project. The Allotments Sub-Committee will now approach the Parish Council for the balance of funding to enable the project to commence.
